Our Resources Strategy

For the sake of convenience we've grouped together carbon and water under the umbrella of resources, but this is not to play down the significance of each. We recognise that both carbon and water reduction are hugely important. Climate change is a reality and water shortages and floods are becoming daily news stories. As a business that creates CO2 and uses water we realise that we have a part to play.

Carbon

We are currently working on the following areas:

* Researching equipment changes to improve energy efficiency.
* Implementing behavioural change to drive down wasteful practices.
 


Water

We continue to work hard to understand our water usage and to this end we’re looking at installing smart water meters in our shops. Sadly this is not as easy as it sounds, but at BrainFood we never shy away from a challenge. We recently installed water hippos in our toilets. These clever little devices reduce the amount of water used when the toilet is flushed.
